Marketing Communications Specialist

OVERVIEW

The Marketing Communications Specialist reports to the VP of Marketing Communications and will be responsible for developing and executing marketing communications plans to promote KBM products and services.The postition will be located in our Richardson, Texas office. 

The successful candidate will be a strong, articulate and versatile writer who knows how to translate complex material into compelling copy.  This person should be comfortable writing documentation for training as well as copy for print ads, direct mail, articles, email and the web site. We need a strong copywriter and marketing communications generalist, who is also willing to take on other marketing communications tasks such as trade show management, creation of sales presentations, plus lead tracking and measurement.

Knowledge of direct marketing and an understanding of the kinds of services (data, processing, analytics and database marketing) that KBM offers is very important.

Major Job Functions:

?  Write copy and direct creative for collateral, direct mail, trade shows, electronic ads, etc.

?  Write articles for industry publications

?  Research and write white papers and case studies.

?  Research and write internal product/service documentation

?  Write copy for KBM Web site.

?  Create sales presentations on PowerPoint

?  Provide administrative support for departmental functions such as lead tracking and customer/prospect database

?  Manage assigned projects related to trade shows including exhibit logistics, attendee communications, show promotions, etc.

?  Work as part of cross-functional teams (with business unit heads, development, sales, strategic partners, et al) to effectively launch and promote products.

?  May manage creative and production processes through outside designers, advertising agencies and printers.

?  Manage all aspects of communications activities for assigned products and channels

?  Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or other KBM management.



Required Experience:

?  5-8 years hands-on communications experience (e.g. copywriting, trade show management).

?  Proof of extensive writing experience (portfolio required) for both print and electronic media.

?  Knowledge of the direct marketing process and related services required

?  Direct marketing/agency experience preferred.

?  Knowledge of marketing concepts and principles.

?  Project management experience



Required Education/Skills:

?  BA/BS in communications, public relations, advertising, or marketing.

?  Versatile, convincing writer skilled in writing for wide variety of media/audiences including print, web and email.

?  Strong project management skills.

?  Ability to work independently.

?  Bright, creative and energetic team player.

?  Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

?  Page layout experience (e.g. Quark, PhotoShop) a plus

?  Excellent proofreading skills
