Marketing Director - FANTASTIC LAW FIRM!!!

My client, a prestigious international law firm, is seeking a Marketing Director for the Litigation Practice of its New York office!!  The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for creating and executing marketing plans, strategies and tactics to develop new business with current and prospective clients and build awareness and interest in the Litigation practice and lawyers (both internally and externally).  The focus of each sub-practice and its partners will differ somewhat but each will require some balance of Business Development, communications and media relations programs and tactics.  This position will be based in the firm?s New York office and reports to the CMO or Business Development head with a dotted line to the Practice Section Leaders and works directly with all litigation partners in all offices.  Responsibilities include collecting or developing and organizing information about the practice and its lawyers, existing and prospective clients and their industries and key competitors, using this information to develop marketing plans that support the practice sections' financial and strategic objectives, and assessing and implementing compelling and cost effective promotional programs.

 

Required Experience:

This position is for a "senior doer" with 10 or more years of relevant experience and the passion to build the practice.  This position is essentially a new one and remedial work will be required to update and organize information to leverage in marketing activities.  Candidates must be entrepreneurial, enjoy being "hands on" with limited support, a team player with a "can-do" attitude and able to educate lawyers as to the value of marketing to building their business. Candidates must be familiar with and have demonstrable experience in litigation area, and be able to manage two (2) to three (3) managers/coordinators who are not necessarily based in the NY office.  Individuals with both MBA and JD degrees are preferred.
