Marketing Generalist

General Summary
Under the direction / guidance of the Senior / Marketing Managers, the Marketing Generalist helps support both the Category and Innovation marketing teams. The Marketing Generalist will support the business and provide tactical support in executing key initiatives for the division. The incumbent needs strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work independently as well as with a diverse group of people and personalities cross functionally; the ability to multi-task as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Principal Accountabilities
General Marketing Support - assists marketers with tactical elements on items like promotions, development and coordination of sales support materials, responsible for track spending against projects working on - helps create presentations - 35%
Business Analysis - support marketing team with business analysis and insights - run relevant Insight reports, gather key competitive intelligence, develops insights and report findings to team, assimilate trend and industry data and research, share findings with team- 30%
Project Management - develop and manage timelines for major product development projects (ie. new product development, line extensions, etc) - ability to make tactical business decisions to keep project moving forward - attends team meeting, provides timing updates and track activities against timeline, tracks budget - responsible for necessary paperwork to support the launch (ie SCAN notes, web forms, etc.) - 20%
Label Development / Updates - full responsibility for spearheading any label /packaging development or updates - delivering the labels needed on a timely basis - involves working cross functionally with groups like the Design Center, Gov Regs, etc to make sure the labels are completed on time - 15%
Job Complexity
This position will require the ability to multitask on several different projects, keeping them all moving forward simultaneously, on a timely basis. Strong communication skills both written and verbally is important so that each Marketer is made aware of the status of his / her specific initiative. The ability to utilize information to draw insights and conclusions and make tactical business decisions will also be critical. The position requires an ability to be flexible to adapt to changing priorities. The job involves interacting with several different functional areas, especially Sales,Research & Development, Legal, Purchasing, Gov. Regs, etc. at many different levels.

Education & Experience
Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree
Education preferred: Bachelor's degree in business or marketing
Minimum Experience: 3 years in business or marketing
