Marketing Representative (Req# A0601)
Responsible for promoting the Company and its products to retail/wholesale agents/brokers, general agents, program managers, insurance industry associates or others. Responsible for generating sources of business for Company?s products and establishing a marketing plan to achieve corporate objectives. Communicates with Company's producers regarding products via written/oral communication and/or other graphic medium to maintain and /or improve the producer's relationship with the Company. Provides marketing and promotional material, as needed, to producers. Assist in coordinating new producer training and follow-up. Assist ?Topa Team Leaders? with targeted premiums. Assists management with development or updating of products and field surveys to assess industry/market needs. Advise management of business opportunities and business climate changes. Act as liaison for existing programs. Maintains inventory (i.e. track, collate, etc.) and coordinate distribution of marketing materials, promotional items and incentive programs. Represents the Company at industry functions/ conventions/ conferences. Travels to and participates in company presentations, trade show exhibits and promotions. Participates in in-house events and producer recognition forums. Maintains producer database and generate internal database information, such as lists and counts for direct marketing projects. Compiles information for approval and cover of monthly marketing reports. Follows budget guidelines as provided by management for producer entertainment, promotion, etc. Performs related administrative responsibilities including maintenance of Agency files, producer information, ACT database and company website. Serves as backup to Executive Assistant to the President when necessary and assist in marketing related special event productions (producer/re-insurer onsite visits, promotional events, office hospitality, golf outings, etc.).
Requires Bachelors degree from an accredited university supplemented with Insurance Education (INS 21, 22, and 23 preferred). Minimum 2 years marketing experience in the insurance industry. Excellent judgment, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and analytical, planning, and organizations abilities. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills. Ability to perform effectively under high-stress situations and within short deadlines. Ability to give presentations to groups. Maturity, tact and diplomacy when handling confidential information and/or dealing with issues related to the management of Topa Insurance Group. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Proficiency in database management software (ACT) MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Valid Driver?s License with clean driving record and insured automobile.
