Marketing Strategy Manager

Job Summary: 


NetApp Global Services is the fastest growing division of the fastest growing company in the storage industry.  In this high growth environment, the Marketing Strategy Manager will be responsible for strategic planning and analysis critical to the development and success of NetApp’s professional services business. 


 


The successful candidates will become part of an all-star marketing team comprised of alumni from top MBA programs and consulting firms (including McKinsey, Booz Allen, Wharton, MIT) as well as seasoned industry veterans (Cisco, Sun, Novell, Symantec).

Essential Functions: 


The Marketing Strategy Manager will work on a broad range of cross-functional, high-profile subject areas, ranging from providing short-term strategic insight for key executive initiatives to assuming long-term ownership for the success of marketing initiatives, offerings and service introductions.  Primary areas of focus will be:

Growth strategy incl. M&A related analyses
Portfolio strategy
Pricing
Initiating and overseeing operational changes, e.g. with respect to service sales
Demand forecasting
Capacity planning
Competitive analysis and benchmarking
Field communications


 


The tangible output of these analyses will be frequent presentations to the entire Services Marketing team and the Vice President of Services Marketing.  Each focus area will also require presentations, webcasts and video-on-demand recordings targeted toward corporate sales, marketing and operations personnel.  The strategy manager will be expected to work with the Marketing Communications team to define the most appropriate medium of communication for each engagement.  In addition to the functional responsibilities of the role, the Strategy Manager will immediately assume a highly visible role with frequent interactions across the globe and will be a contributor towards moving NetApp towards a more consultative, solution selling GTM model.  The role provides excellent longer-term career growth in various marketing, sales and services related areas coupled with ongoing coaching from a long time McKinsey alumnus.


 


 


Requirements:  


· An individual that can not only create strategies, but one who can combine their intellectual capabilities with leadership skills to rally cross-functional teams around a common goal


· Highly motivated self-starter able to thrive in fast paced, high energy environment


· Expert quantitative analytical skills with excel modeling experience


· Excellent communication and presentation skills


· Proven track record of leadership and personal maturity


· Ability to work cross-functionally, on several projects simultaneously


· A general knowledge of the technology industry would be advantageous


 


 


Education:


Undergraduate or equivalent degree required (preferably mathematics, economics or a quantitative discipline)
