Media Manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

? Acts as the primary brand's strategic thought leader and day to day manager on all paid for media contacts and points of customer communication.  These include media plans funded by Systemwide (SMF) and Local (Co-op) franchisee-funded media budgets. 

? Establish vision and strategies in development of funded media plans to steward Effective and Efficient exposure of the Sonic brand. Specific media included, but not limited to: Television, Radio, Print, Direct mail and Interactive media.

? Liaison between Sonic and advertising agency?s media planning group, ensuring day-to-day delivery of all key aspects of agency?s responsibilities.

? Assists in the training and development of field team media skills, budgeting and cash flow management.

? Works with Product & Segment Director to oversee the effective and efficient development and implementation of local media plans in conjunction with National initiatives.

? Work closely with Manager, Relationship marketing to merge interactive media strategies that will drive RM business objectives effectively and efficiently.

? Looks for new and innovative media outlets and resources to advance and enhance the Sonic Brand locally and regionally.

? Prepare media status reports and communicates to key management groups on a regular basis

? Monitoring and analysis of media campaign results to determine cost effectiveness of initiatives.

? Coordination of field personnel to ensure market specific added value throughout Sonic system and Media meetings in key markets with all media vendor partners.

? Coordination and presentation of specific media plans surrounding the in-market testing of new products or marketing initiatives.

? Assist as needed with annual franchise convention, annual Field Team Meetings, FAC meetings and other marketing department projects.

 

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

 

? The ideal candidate will possess and understanding of the dynamics of mass media advertising as it relates to driving traffic in a multi-unit, multi-market retail brand.

? Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of both national/network and spot/local media strategies and tactics.  Including television, interactive, promotional, radio and print planning and buying.

? Bachelor?s degree preferred in marketing or advertising. Graduate degree preferred.

? 4 - 6 years experience in media planning or buying in an agency or brand marketer environment, managing significant media budgets for large brands.  Experience should include integrated media strategies/plans implemented at both the national and local level.

? Proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and other relevant software programs.

? Relationship management skills.

? Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation capabilities.

? Ability to understand and help support the overall objective of Sonic?s communications initiatives which utilize web technology and determine specific courses of action for the continued development of all consumer facing Web sites.

? Ability to set goals, determine priorities, plan, organize and follow through on assigned responsibilities.  Excellent project management skills a must!

? Ability to make recommendations and decisions in a timely manner.

? Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

? Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

? Accuracy and attention to detail an absolute must.

? Highly creative with an ability to be flexible and open to new ideas.

? Proven ability to multi-task with little direct supervision.

? Experience managing a budget.

? Time management skills.

? Flexibility to work within an open concept office environment and within established guidelines
