Media Relations Manager

Location: Winston-Salem
Status: Full-Time

Industry-leading public safety firm is seeking an experienced media relations professional with expertise in public and media relations to build out our marketing team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the execution of local public and media relations programs, securing non-paid media exposure for the company?s customers and products in local media markets across the nation and creating outbound internal and external communications programs.

Developing on-going messaging and media stories for the companies and their products
Responding to all media inquiries
Pitching messages and stories to media contacts at the trade, vertical, local and national level
Coordinating media appearances and interviews for executive team
Writing on-going stream of press releases
Managing distribution of press releases
Advising and collaborating with client customers? public relations departments to create local and national stories of interest.

Among the required leadership, organizational, time management and team-oriented qualities, we're also looking for candidates who:
Have account management (strategy and tactic development) and client relations experience
Have some media relations experience: news writing, angles, pitching, etc
Have superb editing skills
Well organized, with ability to set public relations goals and achieve/exceed them
Top notch oral and written communication skills
Candidate must be energetic, entrepreneurial, creative, and eager to make a meaningful and substantial contribution to the agency

Experience:
Advanced level of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent grammatical skills
Attention to detail
Resourcefulness
Creative marketing and public relations
Strong presentation skills
A bachelor?s degree in a communications-related field
Agency experience a plus

Must possess a passion for expressing creativity in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment.
