Description:
As a member of Ameriprise Financial Corporate Communications department and media relations team, the individual will provide media relations and communications counsel and support to the company¿s broker-dealer, Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. The individual will design and implement proactive and reactive media relations strategies in support of the broker-dealer and ultimately, the Ameriprise Financial brand. This includes driving results in both national and local markets and consumer and trade media through an effective partnership with senior leaders in the company¿s home office and in market groups across the country.

The position reports to the head of media relations and works closely with two other media team members supporting the broker-dealer.

Qualifications:
Requirements include:
Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills Understanding of financial services industry
Ability to provide effective communications counsel to senior leaders
Ability to flourish in a team environment
Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure
Crisis communication experience Self motivated, creative and an attention to detail
A minimum of five years of media relations experience including direct work experience, journalism or communications degree, etc. NASD series 7 registration a plus
