The Cerner Marketing Multimedia Designer manipulates typography, graphics, video, animation and programming languages to visually communicate marketing messages through a variety of digital mediums. The Cerner Marketing Multimedia Designers is proficient using the latest releases of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash and Apple Final Cut Pro (or similar video applications). The Cerner Multimedia Design Group supports a wide range of marketing initiatives and provides an excellent opportunity to produce world-class creative work. Work includes the development and execution of marketing strategies within Web design, motion graphics, corporate video, and presentations. Responsibilities for the Cerner Marketing Multimedia Designer also include the following: collaborating with content developers and project requestors to produce corporate collateral consistent with brand styles and marketing strategies; designing work with minimal definition, and the ability to put definition around assignments; troubleshooting, correcting, and optimizing production of Flash, Web, Video and PowerPoint file formats; managing outside design resources, organizing design systems, and following design processes and methodology; utilizing information architecture to create graphic user interfaces for Web-based and stand-alone applications; developing diagrams, charts and graphs that explain Cerner systems and vision; and leading design sessions.
Bachelor’s degree in Design or Design related field, or equivalent work experienceMust demonstrate a strong understanding of design and visual communication techniques5+ years visual design experience — specifically in the areas of interface design, usability, Web sites, and video editingExpertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Final Cut Pro (or similar video applications)Developer proficiency in one of the following areas: Flash (ActionScript), Web design (HTML, PHP, XML, CSS, Javascript), Video editing (advanced understanding of codecs, production techniques) and/or PowerPoint (interactivity and working with other apps)Strong Communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects independentlyAbility to work as part of a team and as team leader
