OEM Program Manager

The OEM Program Manager (PM) works with Avocent?s AESS Product Marketing, OEM Sales, OEM Operations, Engineering, Technical Publications, Legal, and Financial organizations to ensure that OEM specific requirements and obligations for both products and the business are understood and met. The OEM PM is foremost a project management professional who has responsibility for managing cross-functional projects specific to an individual OEM brand/account. These projects may cover any of the following areas: New product introduction (NPI) activities;Sustaining product support;Business initiatives.

The OEM PM has responsibility for the successful completion of the projects that they are assigned, and their performance will be evaluated based on whether a project is completed on-time, within budget and with all technical objectives met. To ensure that this goal is met, the OEM PM has responsibility for the following items: Definition of project requirements; Leadership of and participation within the project core team; Creation of cross-functional project schedule; Creation of project control methods; Risk Management; Escalation Management; Change Management.***And other duties as assigned or needed.***

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel throughout the U.S.; especially Austin, Texas.

Experience and Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Strong organizational, project management, and communications skill. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project. Technical knowledge in the areas of servers, server management, embedded systems. Candidates for this position will have 2-5 years of project management experience (ideally PMP certification will have been obtained), be comfortable in a process-oriented environment (ISO experience a plus), have a solid technical background, and have a track record of success working with OEM accounts Must be highly motivated and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be a team player with strong people skills that emphasize consensus building, arbitration, relationship building and coordination. Must have the ability and willingness to do occasional travel throughout US, Europe, or Asia.
