PR/Communications Associate

Job Summary:

The pr/communications associate will support, drive and execute public relations initiatives for the company's businesses. Core responsibilities include working closely with internal clients and media contacts to ensure strategic and effective pr results; drafting press materials, press releases, media advisories, case studies, spokesperson messages, article abstracts and contributed articles; and Web copy; proactively pitching media; and identifying and securing ongoing editorial opportunities. Other responsibilities include responding to media inquiries and preparing internal media spokespeople for press statements and interviews. The position will also manage and support specific media databases for these businesses as well as press clip management.

Job Requirements: Candidate must have at least 3-4 solid years of pr experience in both a corporate and agency environment. Candidate must have a successful track record pitching media and securing editorial coverage with proven expertise writing a range of press materials, including press releases, fact sheets, case studies, pitch letters and e-mails, article abstracts and contributed articles. Must have excruciating attention to detail, organization and AP style. Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task and work under daily deadlines in a very fast-paced environment, and bring a strong interest and knowledge base of our business. Expertise with media software programs, excel spreadsheets and power point a must. Experience with list server programs and Webinars a plus.
