PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MARKETING DIRECTOR



 

The Del Oro Division of The Salvation Army, serves the Northern California and Northern Nevada Regions, and is seeing an experienced, highly motivated Public Relations and Marketing Director.

 

This position implements effective public relations and cause-based marketing programs designed to support Divisional Headquarters and local units with their public relations needs and opportunities. Serves as principal Public Information Officer in times of disaster or emergency. Prepares and distributes news releases, PSAs and other communications needed to keep the public informed about Salvation Army events, services, needs and accomplishments. Coordinates the development and maintenance of working relationships between Salvation Army units and the public media throughout the Northern California and Nevada service area. Cultivates and implements cause-based marketing opportunities with business entities having a significant presence in the Del Oro Division service area and also having a public image consistent with that of The Salvation Army.

 

Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and implement cause-based marketing strategies. BA in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field required. A minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience in Public Relations or Marketing with a religious, non-profit organization, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position.
