ARC International is looking for a highly motivated Packaging/Production Designer to support North American Operations. This position will start off as a temporary assignment and for the right individual could possibly lead to full-time hire ("temp-to-perm"). Founded in 1825, ARC International is one of the world's largest tabletop companies, employing over 16,000 people. We distribute glass & crystal products, dinnerware, and home accessories in over 160 countries for the luxury, consumer, and food service markets. Arc International North America is the home to 5 very special tableware brands - Mikasa, Studio Nova, Luminarc, Salviati, and Cristal d'Arques.


 





Key Responsibilities:

Complete packaging mechanicals in Adobe Illustrator and generate comps following established Branded guidelines
Provide pre-press preparation and final proofing
Liaison with in-house packaging and marketing team to remedy any package design issues
Other Responsibilities:
Create new packaging designs as requested
Color-correction/image manipulation
Creation of in-store retail signage





Essential Skills:


Detailed-oriented quick-study who knows how to work quickly and efficiently


Demonstrated leader with a take-charge attitude who is able to identify packaging design challenges AND finds solutions to them


Understand factory dielines and visualize them in 3D


Proficiency in math (division, logo ratio applications, metric measurements)





Qualifications:  


BA Graphic Design or Similar BA Degree. 2-3 years of packaging production design experience in a corporate setting.  Strong proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and QuarkXpress.  Able to provide photography direction to and photograph new products for initial use.  Proficient in typography and color theory.  Knowledge of graphic design history and theory.  Working knowledge in Excel and Word.  Strong inter-personal skills required. Requires daily problem solving and the ability to question status quo of past efforts to develop better remedies.  This is a tproduction position with creative opportunities.
