Photography Manager

AMERICAN GIRL PLACE, located in Chicago near the Magnificent Mile, in New York near Rockefeller Center and in Los Angeles in The Grove shopping center, is the award-winning retail and entertainment site created by American Girl,a wholly owned subsidiary of Mattel, Inc, selling books, dolls, clothing and other products for girls age 3-12. We are seeking a Photography Manager to plan and execute all photography for American Girl. This role is located in our headquarters in Middleton, WI, near Madison.

Key roles include:
' Develop and manage a complex, multi channel photography schedule including internal photo studio
' Source and negotiate with photographers, stylists and model agencies
' Manage the business, driving for efficiency and supporting digital asset management workflow
' Oversee photography budget
' Manage team of Photo Shoot Coordinator and Photo Stylist
' Source locations and support photo shoots ' travel as needed

Requirements include:
' Associate degree plus 7+ years experience in advertising/marketing photography OR a Bachelors degree with 3-5 years relevant experience
' Knowledge of Photoshop and technical aspects of digital photography
' Knowledge of photography used in advertising or marketing materials
' Experience coordinating many types of photography including on-figure (both location and studio) and tabletop (including sets and laydown)
' Experience budgeting and negotiating contracts
' Supervisory experience

Strong candidates will also possess:
' Experience coordinating digital photo shoots
' Strong knowledge of digital photography
' Experience inside a company, coordinating photography for all departments (vs. multiple clients in an outside studio)
