Print Media Buyer Specialist-Phoenix

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for annual negotiation of print media contracts, which includes preprints,  ROP, and comic spadeas in Minor Markets.  Provides rationale for print media decisions in minor markets that have a financial impact on the company.  Responsible for ensuring that expenses stay within budget guidelines.  Evaluates media coverage of existing stores and recommends changes.  Researches media vehicles for new store coverage and puts together plans for Grand Opening and on-going coverage.  Provides analysis of zip code surveys and other syndicated research in order to better target our customer.  Determines which stores should receive Spanish print media coverage and in-store signage.  Tracks progress of actual volume or expenditure against contracted levels.  Help review run lists for accuracy of quantities and versioning with Print Media Coordinator.  Ensures that all program changes are communicated properly to field and corporate associates.  Send Monthly Print Media RVP Report.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Two years of media buying experience

Bachelor?s degree in Business, Marketing or a closely related field or 4 years directly related professional work experience

Proven negotiation skills

Strong written and verbal communication, able to persuasively propose significant expenditures or plan changes 

Experience with budgeting and expense tracking

Experience using demographic and psycho-graphic research

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, especially Access and Excel

Effective problem resolution and decision making skills

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel

Must be able to work with little direct supervision

Detailed knowledge and understanding of standard print media resources, such as audit reports, rate cards, marriage mail circulation reports, etc.
