Product Definition - Virtualization/Consolidation Strategy

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Planning and execution of Voice-Of-the-Customer and product definition in support of Sun's systems virtualization/consolidation strategy. Identify technology and operational trends that impact customer activities, requirements, and priorities. Feature set analysis and recommendation for product initiatives.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Technical marketing, message development, product positioning, competitive analysis.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to communicate clearly and work directly with customers. Ability to interact independently with customer technical staff. Knowledge of Product Management and Marketing. Understanding of overall computer system functionality, components and operations.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of the server market and competition. Experience with systems virtualization technology. Understanding of data center operational process.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6+

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BA/BS

FIELD OF STUDY: Computer Science, Marketing, Engineering

ADDITIONAL COURSE WORK: Project Management
