Product Manager And Product Development Manager

This rapidly expanding consumer hard goods company is one of the leaders in the outdoor fashion category and they sell to all of the Mass, DIY and Specialty accounts nationally .They are one of the leading trend setters in their industry and their looking for two types of marketing talent.

 

1) Product Manager-

This person will review market research and identify and track market trends in their category. By conducting market analysis you will translate the trends into new products which can be manufactured on site or sourced in China. You also have to monitor competitive products and produce completive analysis reports. Basically your identifying market potential by working with the national accounts teams to give them the trend products that the mass accounts are demanding. In this role you will be working with sales, engineering and budgets to execute the marketing programs that you have developed in the creation of a comprehensive and cohesive product portfolio. Supervision will be three people

 

Your experience has to have 5 years of marketing and product development in consumer hard goods. This company works with diversified materials such as metal, ceramics, patio furniture material, textiles and other items. Having worked on fashion, color and seasonal trend products is desired. Food and HBA will not work here since there is no trend input in color, style or new products 

 

2) Product Development Manager-

This position is prolific in product development and will provide vision and strategy for new product development for individual key and secondary accounts. This will include overseeing timelines to make sure multiple deadlines are met and review and confirm accuracy of product specs during development stage and into manufacturing. You must have costing skills experience and be able to judge market price for various products. Travel to China is necessary to meet buyers and foreign manufacturers. They do produce 35% of their products in the USA.

 

5 to 10 years of marketing and new product development experience with consumer goods (outdoor fashion categories or other trend products) plus experience and knowledge of the manufacturing process to successfully manufacture products in China  A sense of fashion color and trend product development  are desired for both positions. Assessing product costs of manufacturing and understanding of budgets and development analysis is also desired. Relocation is paid for.
