Currently, we are looking for a Product Manager to be based in Vernon Hills, IL for our Cole Parmer Division.

Cole-Parmer,headquartered in Vernon Hills, IL, is a leading worldwide distributor of specialty technical instruments, appliances, equipment and supplies to industrial, bioscience, academic and governmental customers. Our product lines also include fluid-management systems and instruments, which are important components of scientific research.




The Product Manager will strategically plan for the future growth of Cole-Parmer Instrument Company by identifying new market segments and products within their product lines which will be laboratory, electrochemistry and environmental product lines. Position is responsible for increasing sales through sourcing new products and effective promotion of current products including creating literature to market product lines. The successful candidate must be able to analyze current products and promotions for maximum profitability and return on investments, as well as source and negotiate with new suppliers and build and enhance communications with key suppliers.


Required Skills:

Bachelor?s in Business, Marketing, Chemistry or a related field.
5 or more years progressive product line management and development experience or an equivalent combination of education and related industry work experience. Knowledge of the electrochemistry, laboratory or pharmaceutical industry is required.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with different levels of the organization, work cooperatively with customers, Sales Representatives, and Marketing team.
Able to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and follow-up in a timely manner through excellent organizational, planning, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Must be able to creatively analyze problems and possess strong analytical skills to process information from a variety of sources, grasp new concepts, approaches or systems, and organize information logically to contribute to the creation of the catalog, and determine pricing.
Must be a strategic thinker to identify appropriate strategies to increase revenues within assigned product lines.
Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
Must be proficient in standard computer applications, with excellent skills in Excel and Word. Experience in Access and Showcase is a plus.
