Product Manager Line - Liquids

Primary Responsibility: Manage all aspects of the product line, including profitability, growth, new product priorities, and product positioning.  In essence, the product line manager is a general manager for that specific product line.

 

Major Functions

1)  Work with Engineering Development teams: Identify and develop new products and supporting accessories.Develop and write new product specificationsDevelop and maintain a product strategy for liquid product line.Ensure new products meet both customer needs and PMS?s financial objectives. Review/develop & approve Operations Manual releases/updatesJointly provide leadership.

 

2)  Work with Sustaining Engineering teams:Support/improve existing products.Develop fixes for product problems and promulgate the solution to the field.Jointly provide leadership.

 

3)  Work with Manufacturing & Customer Response Center: Plan & implement product obsolescence. Determine when product can be shipped. Prioritize shipments during product launch/re-launch situations.

 

4)  Work with Sales:Define customer needs.Develop Marketing programs supporting Sales/customers.Announce availability of new products or information. Distribute key information.Train Sales on products, market, competition and how-to-sell product.Update Sales via product/problem-resolution status; maximize sales enthusiasm.

 

Work with Customers:

Be central point of contact for customer issues associated with liquid products

Define users? needs and sharpen product concepts/specs.

Explain & promote PMS products.

Identify applications to meet users? needs.

 

6)  Work in Marketing: Evaluate sales numbers.Serve as expert on competitors.Set prices, update Price Book.Develop & implement product launch plans.Develop brochures, spec sheets, ppt presentations and other collaterals. Serve as spokesperson for products and product line.

 

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree from accredited university, technical degree preferred, MBA desired.  Minimum 5 years experience in business-to-business marketing.

 

Prefer experience in corporation with $20-$200 M annual sales of capital equipment to technically-oriented customers.

Ideal would be experience marketing monitors to semiconductor & pharmaceutical markets.

Strong verbal and writing skills.

Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving and relationship skills.

Ability to lead and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
