Product Manager, Music Services

131711 This individual is responsible for growing existing content service product lines - ring tone/wallpaper and CallerTunes – as well as managing the evolution of music services. This person will have P&L responsibility for his/her product lines and will work with platform providers and internal audiences to identify new product lines and (or) additions/improvements to existing ones. He/she must have strong general business management skills as well as the ability to track and present business results to T-Mobile's senior management team.

This person must be a thought leader and have the ability to work with the broader cross functional organization to drive incremental revenue opportunities. This person will also be responsible for managing the underlying product platform and vendor relationship and creating product roadmaps to provide guidance to external platform providers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluate market trends and consumer needs to create requirements to identify new opportunities, additions to existing product lines, and improvements to existing ones.
Manage product life cycle activity to improve customer satisfaction, market competitiveness or contribution margin.
Define and measure key performance metrics to create actionable plans to achieve product line goals and deliverables.
Manage rollout process of new product initiatives collaborating cross functionally with Product Development, Engineering, and other internal/external organizations to ensure a successful launch.
Identify product roadmap in conjunction with partners in Product Development and manage external partner activity in support of it.
Create competitive and business case analysis and (or) other financial justification to initiate new product/enhancement initiatives

People/Positions Interactions:

Works cross-functionally with Product Development, Engineering, Business Development, Web team, and Segment Marketing to successfully rollout product initiatives
Works with Manager, Director, and VP level counterparts at external platform providers to manage and enhance product lines.
Works with Sales and Customer Care colleagues to evangelize product lines, and identify opportunities for future growth platform providers to manage and enhance product lines.

Functional/Technical Skills
Product management and (or) development skill set to identify opportunities, successfully rollout initiatives, and manage products in varied life cycle stages.
Analytic capability to create business case and (or) other financial justification to drive decision making
Ability to create, develop and execute Marketing plan in support of managed product lines.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills to articulate product strategy and vision to senior management team.

Experience

4-6 years Product Management, Marketing, or Development experience required
Demonstrated experience in working cross functionally in support of new products and (or) product enhancements.
Background in identifying marketing opportunities and working with applicable Marketing functions to execute.
Wireless and (or)content services background is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in managing vendor relationships.
Understanding/knowledge of digital music services.

Education/Training

Undergraduate degree required. MBA preferred.
