Product Manager - Temecula, CA (Computer Aided Dispatch; RMS)

As a Product Line Manager, you will be primarily responsible for achieving a sustained business focus on Police RMS and Field Based Reporting software applications and interfaces within target Public Safety and related vertical markets from inception of the product idea through the discontinuance of the idea or resulting product. This position creates and maintains strategic plans for these and other assigned products and is responsible for managing to the fulfillment of the plan. Primary objectives are to create product requirements based on market demand, interface with the sales team and channels, enable profit maximization, achieve overall long term customer satisfaction and comply with all corporate objectives.

 

This position generates, maintains and communicates the Marketing Specifications document for his/her given products and/or product line(s) ideas; including but not limited to, product and application description narratives, specific product design and performance parameters, market delivery window parameters, market price points parameters, internal cost parameters.

 

This position generates, maintains and communicates the Product Business plan including but not limited to, the product marketing specifications, detailed market description and customer base, quarterly unit sales declaration, feature description, quality assurance measures, service and support issues, profit maximization rationale, quarterly sales/cost forecast, risk.

 

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to communicating produce changes, designing and creating product documents, developing and maintaining competitive product matrices, etc.

 

The ideal candidate must have solid industry work experience in product management, developing product market specifications, establishing strategic product schedules and budgets. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a technical understanding of current PC operating systems (Windows NT/2000/XP) combined with experience with telephony and telecommunications, telephony standards and regulations, 911 systems, networks and peripheral equipment, CAD, Police Records Systems and/or Field Based Reporting systems for use in Public Safety Applications.

 

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:

 

? BA in Marketing, Business Management or Business Administration or related or equivalent combination of education and experience.

? Minimum of two years in product management including responsibilities developing product market specifications, establishing and maintaining strategic product related schedules and budgets.

? Experience with databases, i.e., SQL.

? Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.

? Experience in direct dealings with customers and internal staff.

? Highly analytical combined with strong problem solving and time management skills.

? Proven ability to work well and communicate effectively in cross-functional teams.

? Must be able to work irregular hours and be productive with frequent interruptions.

? Must be able to travel frequently (up to 50% of the time), sometimes on short notice.
