Product Marketing Engineer

Work with Product Management Team to deliver business results. Key responsibilities include: market requirements definition, product/ services promotion, competitive analysis and promotional program development.

* Identify market needs and business opportunities through proactive and consistent interface with end user customers and distribution channel influencers.
* Proven ability to identify and document user needs and profiles.
* Identify and document requirements for assigned products, systems and services.
* Create business cases that effectively capture the marketing justification and financial projections for new business streams.
* Actively participate in cross-functional development teams.
* Develop and implement promotional programs that have a measurable impact on revenue and segment income.
* Organize and drive product rollouts.
* Initiate a high level of interaction with the Marketing Services team to develop tools, marketing programs and product materials.
* Analyze competitors and develop strategies to advantage Trane.
* Some travel required.
* Support internal customers as Subject Matter Expert for customer visits, product support and distribution.
* Understand and represent the needs of customers through market research, advisory groups and focus groups.
* Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
* Effectively meet the needs of internal and external customers.
* Ability to work regularly and dependably.
* Ability to function in a team environment.
* Demonstrate ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers.

* Four-year degree in Marketing, Engineering or related field required.
* Masters degree preferred.
* 4 or more years experience with building controls.
* Demonstrated experience in communicating technical information to non-technical users.
* Desire and willingness to be held accountable for delivering business results.
* Demonstrated ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers
* High energy level.
* Self-starter and self-finisher.
* Strong team player with demonstrated leadership ability.
* Strong computer skills, namely with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
* Excellent business communication skills, both oral and written.
* Excellent presentation skills.
