We seek Production Artists who love production work and believe the details are the most important part of the job. You do not view this role as a stepping stone to design work. You are Photoshop and Illustrator savvy, but are versatile with all aspects of print production, and QuarkXPress is an old familiar friend that you know inside and out.
Your portfolio includes high-end print collateral in a variety of design departments, preferably with a publishing or printing focus, though clean corporate work is always attractive. The work will show how closely you have collaborated with Art Directors and Graphic designers to prepare files for printing. In addition, you are looking for primarily freelance work to give you the challenge of new environments and demanding projects.
? Must be experienced with file conversions, trapping, color correction, masking, die-cut template preparation, scanning and more.
? Must have an excellent eye for detail, and "Perfectionist" tendencies.
? Your ability to send clean finished pieces out the door makes you the designers' closest ally.
Required Skills/Experience:
? 3-5 years experience in the Print field.
? High proficiency level with Photoshop, Illustrator, and QuarkXPress or InDesign.
? College degree in a related field is preferred.
? Must provide a portfolio of your work that highlights your many production feats, such as: Color correction, photo retouching, trapping, masking techniques, ability to prepare files for printer/pre-press.
? Key individual traits include: flexibility, able to work with a team, able to follow direction, able to ask the right questions at the right time, and experience with the pressures of deadlines and the diversity of personalities involved in getting a job out the door.
