Program Coordinator, R&D
DESCRIPTIONDrexel University, a leading employer in the Phildelphia area, seeks a Program Coordinator for its College of Engineering. This individual will be responsible for providing general technical and administrative support to ECE's research and development programs. Duties include:
Identifying and informing faculty of major research funding opportunities (from federal and state agencies, industry and foundations.)
Assisting faculty with the development and implementation of research and fundraising opportunities.
Assisting faculty in developing research grant and contract proposals and supporting pre-award activities.
Coordinating multi-institutional research and contract proposal development efforts.
Assisting the Department Head with departmental fundrasising/development initiatives and coordinating these programs with Institutional Advancement.
Developing and coordinating research proposal and special departmental projects and initiatives (i.e. Fellowship/Scholarship programs, Faculty/Student Exchange programs, workshops and seminars and international programs).
Initiating and overseeing departmental publicity efforts, which includes publications, presentations, newsletters, web page development and informational brochures.
Serving as a liaison to industry counterparts to coordinate visits and other activities involving faculty and staff members.
Maintaining departmental records and databases.REQUIREMENTS
Individual should possess a Bachelor's degree and preferably have some work experience in a relevant area. This position requires strong written/oral communication and computer skills with excellent word processing, spreadsheet presentation and desktop publishing software skills. Ability to use the Internet effectively for research is key.
