Programs & Events Manager (high tech trade association)

SUCCESS MEANS VISION ?. AeA is the largest association of high-tech companies in the U.S. with 2,500 companies, representing all segments of the high technology industry and 1.8 million employees.  We seek an individual for our Texas Council located in Dallas to coordinate and carry out planning and execution of our local events and projects for our Texas industry members. 

 

This individual will coordinate and market local programs and events, secure event speakers and participants, negotiate contracts with event venues, and assist in recruiting event corporate sponsors.  In addition to event management, this individual will also develop a local PR plan in conjunction with our national team, staff multiple council committees, develop marketing collateral to support local industry membership events and membership development efforts, and maintain the council website and database.

 

Requirements include a degree along with 2+  years related experience.  The candidate must be highly organized, team-oriented, customer-focused, and able to multi-task.  (S)he must possess polished communications skills and a high level of professionalism to interact with high-profile corporate executives and other business leaders in the high technology industry. We require excellent written/oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.  The candidate must be extremely comfortable in using technology to do their job (computers/database/software applications/internet). Prior experience in database entry, Lotus Notes and FrontPage (or HTML ? a solid understanding of the concept) is key to success. Prior event and project planning skills and/or high tech experience is very desirable.  Local travel to periodic programs and meetings is required.
