Public Relations Consultant

Qualifications -BS in Science/Journalism or Science/Communications
-5 years experience in pharma PR
-Experience developing strategic communications plans
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Global communications experience
-Agency management experience
-Diplomacy, sensitivity and experience managing media queries and issues management

Details
-Proficient level of understanding of drug development process, and ability to interpret preclinical and clinical data to ensure consistent messages are communicated.
-Raise external awareness of the scientific data about the therapeutic area, target indication and product attributes. Develop/execute key initiatives to promote company as a global leader in research (ie: R & D tours, media briefings, image campaign, media training, web updates)
-Prepare press releases, Q & A's, and stock exchange announcements. Liaise with Corporate Media and Investor Relations
-Design and implement strategic public relations plans to support the commercial objectives of portfolio and assist as needed on other key communications activities planned around major medical congresses.
-Experience in managing media inquiries and product-related issues that may impact commercial success of an asset or reputation of the company.
-Oversee the development of internal materials that spotlight key milestones of the R & D portfolio.
-Budget management including soliciting proposals from agencies and vendors and negotiating rates when appropriate.
-Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and coordinate closely with U.S. Pharma, IR, Corporate Communication, and local markets.
-25% travel - domestic and international
