Public Relations Specialist

PR SPECIALIST EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Creative Labs, Inc. has an immediate opening in its Milpitas, CA facility for a PR Specialist. This position will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications and will join the team effort in achieving significant positive media coverage of Creative?s products and driving product categories to PR success. Creative places a strong emphasis on PR, and this position involves the unique and challenging opportunity to regularly interact with top-tier business, consumer and technology media. Responsibilities will include:

- Working with the team to develop and execute comprehensive PR plans for Creative products, including participation in product launches and communication of accurate product messaging.

- Writing product announcements, press releases, media alerts, and corresponding materials/fact sheets.

- Handling day-to-day management of PR agencies in Latin America.

- Providing input on strategic communications counsel.

- Working closely with marketing and engineering teams to effectively position product messaging.

- Fielding and responding to media requests for information.

- Maintaining ongoing communications with PR counterparts in Europe and Asia.

Requirements:

- Candidate must have at least 2 to 4 years experience in Public Relations; experience with consumer electronics, PC peripherals, home theater and/or gaming preferred.

- Must have outstanding speaking and writing skills, and the demonstrated ability to draft press releases, product announcements, and media alerts.

- Must be able to work cohesively with the PR team and other departments to drive campaigns and projects from start to finish.

- Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a time-sensitive environment.

- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, Communications or applicable field, or equivalent experience.

- Existing media contacts in the consumer electronics, peripherals, or gaming space are a great asset.

- Must be willing to travel on occasion and to work beyond a 40-hour week when needed.
