SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE, PUBLIC RELATIONS

Universal Orlando Resort -- home of the world's two most amazing theme parks, Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure, the extraordinary Universal CityWalk entertainment center and our three fabulous hotels, PORTOFINO BAY, HARD ROCK and ROYAL PACIFIC -- is currently seeking the following professionals to join our team.



SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE, PUBLIC RELATIONS



Provides lead role in executing publicity events for major projects and ongoing programs as UO. Develops, implements and supervises all working press communications and logistics on behalf of UO and on-site production companies.





Job Responsibilities:



Serves as primary liaison with assigned print and TV media for Florida and key outer markets. Establishes key media contacts and builds rapport. Provides any information needed such as photos and press releases to media. Coordinates and arrange interviews and ensures fact checking of stories.
Brainstorms ideas for special events that garner media coverage. Pitches key media about event coverage. Implements event by assisting in logistics including event flow. Works as liaison with other departments involved in event to ensure synergy. Coordinates media live shot grids and develops media credentials. Works with media on event day by reviewing event prospectus and escorting media to location. Assists with TV live shots, packages stories and coordinates interviews.
Pitches story ideas to assigned TV and print media in Florida and major outer markets to produce stories about UO or special event/attraction openings. Sends pitch letters, emails and press kits to help build rapport with journalists.
Writes press releases, satellite advisories and media alerts. Determines photos for national distribution.
Performs other duties as assigned.






Job Requirements:


Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or PR required.
5-7 Years experience in Public Relations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
