Sacramento Marketing Manager
Team Enterprises is an event and promotional marketing company looking for a full time employee to assist in the brand awareness of a popular beverage brand in the Sacramento area. This position will be responsible for execution of all Miller Genuine Draft promotions and any other activity in the on-premise channel within the assigned core markets. The Miller Genuine Draft Strategic Marketing Team Leader (SMT) will know and understand the on-premise capabilities of the distributors in the market area. The SMT will be responsible for knowing the local on-premise trade dynamics and facilitating strong distributor and brewery retail relationships. The SMT will recruit, hire and develop promotional specialists to execute client programs. Maintain strong client relationships by utilizing superior communication skills. Track, measure, and communicate results to TEAM and Client on a weekly and monthly basis.
People Development Responsibilities:
Recruit and hire and train quality promotional staff that are knowledgeable about the client?s products and promotions.Train promotional specialists on brand standards and execution guidelines.Conduct regular training of promotional staff
? Insure seamless on boarding of all new employees.
? Develop training program for all new promotional specialistsProvide both positive and constructive feedback to promotional staff after all promotions to improve results and execution standards
? Provide clear direction and expectations for all tasks and requests for information.
? Provide all pertinent information to the promotional specialist about the client?s products and industry specifics.
? Motivate promotional staff to have good attitudes and leave a positive brand impression on the consumer
? Provide strong leadership skills to develop personnel and continuously educate them on the importance of all execution activities
? Insure employees are meeting all client objectives.
? Deal with any performance issues in a timely manner and within TEAM policies and procedures. Act with a sense of urgency
Client Relationship Responsibilities:
Become the single point of contact for local MBCo. field personnelInsure Team Enterprises objectives clearly aligns with client objectivesMaintain regular contact and communication between client field personnel and TEAM Enterprises. Meet with client to gather information to keep self and team updated on product and industry knowledgeGather and report all pertinent competitive activity to TEAM Mgmt and clientAlways sell TEAM?s value to the client and uncover additional opportunities for TEAM to serve the clientConvey expectations and goals to distributor Insure clear and open lines of communicationMeasure and adjust as necessary to deliver maximum resultsIdentify and manage the improvement of key distributor overall on-premise capabilities by providing leadership by example with relation to on premise promotion execution and account management.
? Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with key MBCo personnel (RSM, DSM, OPM, MM) and distributors
? Work with sales representatives in the field a minimum of once a week, assisting them in selling Miller Genuine Draft and promotional programs to targeted on premise accounts.
? Attend monthly sales meetings at the distributor
Field Execution Responsibilities:
Consistently achieve assigned amount of MGD promotions as well as assigned amount of consumer impressions.Conduct promotional training for all Distributors in assigned DMA.Insure promotional staff conduct promotions to TEAM quality standardsManage all on-premise activity to ensure proper implementation and execution of all promotions and special events.
? Implement and execute all event functions and activities, while maximizing sales opportunities for Miller Genuine Draft.
? Work with Promo Staff at all promotions
? Recap all promotions and evaluate effectivenessHave a pre plan for calling on accounts and develop a monthly promotion plan scheduleRide with MBCo and Distributor personnel weekly to ensure strong relationships are being developed with each.Complete sales calls on assigned accounts daily and visit all assigned accounts at least twice per month. Insure all client goals and objectives are sold and executed to accountsPersonally develop productive relationships with key retailers.Conduct wait-staff education, training and entertainment events including Service Industry Promotions
? Work with distributor to set up promotions in and around the event to maximize sponsorship.
? Develop and maintain a positive working relationship within 50 - 60 assigned targeted accounts that cater to the Millenial Pack and Aspirational Traditionalist consumers. Typical accounts are where the target consumer go to Relax and Unwind.
? Call on each of the targeted accounts a minimum of twice per month.
? Achieve MGD retail look objectives (per AAMPS) in assigned accounts and achieve growth sales objectives
? Insure all assigned accounts are merchandised at all times with current POS.
? Lead the Market Area charge for ?CDQ? Cool, Different, and Quality items and ideas in the channel
? Communicate monthly/weekly promotion marketing calendar to appropriate Miller/Distributor personnel.
? Develop targeted account lists for promotions against the targeted consumer and execute mid day promotions Monday thru Friday from 4pm to 8pm and around key sporting events
? Execute guerilla tactic initiatives outlined by the brand group against the target consumer. These initiatives can take place during the day and evening i.e. During lunch hours in business districts, during evenings at special events-Gallery Openings, Play?s/Operas.
? Meet regularly with MBCo to recap events and evaluate effectiveness.
Administrative Responsibilities:
? Responsibly manage all assigned company and client equipment and assets to include protection from damage and theft as well as proper packaging and shipping guidelines.
? Maintain assigned accounts/promotions in RetailTrac, and keep them current.
? Maintain Promotional Staff files with proper signed paperwork to include, W-9, Contractor Agreement, and Copy of valid driver?s license.
? Maintain Daily Call Route Book with up to date account information.
? Complete Daily call activity report whenever making calls on assigned accounts or working at retail with MBCo and Distributor personnelDevelop a weekly/monthly work plan and communicate it to both management and direct reportsComplete all paperwork in a complete and timely mannerManage all informational requests of field personnel and recap key takeaways for TEAM MgmtManage all budgets to insure programs are executed within budget guidelinesOwn the integrity of all reporting of information
Qualifications: The candidate must have: 1-3 years beverage experience preferred BA/BS Degree preferredMust have strong interpersonal skills.Must have strong team leadership abilityMust have strong oral and written communication skillsMust have strong problem solving and motivational skillsMust have computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointMust have the ability to gather information, analyze information and report key insights with recommendations for solutionsMust have the ability to gather and insightfully analyze data, draw conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions. Own the gathering, classification, and the integrity of data gathered in assigned market.Familiarity with targeted on premise accounts and consumers.Typical work week is Monday thru Friday with day time sales calls and promotional activity targeted from 4pm to 8pm.
