ABOUT THE JOB 

Edelman seeks a Senior Account Supervisor in the Chicago office.   

 

QUALIFICATIONS: A Senior Account Supervisor must be able to manage the budgets and account teams on sizable pieces of business. The SAS has agency-wide responsibility for account profitability, new business solicitation, and quality of account service and employee development. S/he must possess superior communication skills and be able to counsel clients' top executive management on public relations and marketing issues. In addition, this individual must be able to multi-task efficiently. Lastly, the senior account supervisor must have at least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 


 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Management of the overall quality on multiple sizable accounts, and the individual performance of AS's, SAE's, AE's, and AAE's. Day-to-day responsibilities include: comprehensive public relations and marketing program planning; regular and consistent contact with clients' marketing, communications, and public affairs management; regular and consistent counseling of client on public relations and marketing strategy; lead annual plan development and present plan to client; troubleshoot client issues; review strategies for press tours, trade shows, press conferences and special events; propose and provide strategic media analysis and counsel to clients and target audiences; manage press kit distribution and materials; build outside partnerships for clients; develop creative platform to increase effectiveness/impact of media campaigns; understand media planning techniques and methodologies; use them to plan and evaluate media strategies; AP style master; superior writing and editing skills on all tasks including press releases, plans, speeches, emails and pitch letters both formal and informal; final editing responsibility for all agency- and client-generated documents; write and manage a variety of high level documents for a variety of audiences; understand clients' marketing and business goals and strategies; understand key client industry issues relating to products, product categories, technologies, primary and potential competition and general issues facing the industry; understand recent and projected financial performance; regular participation and contributions to account team meetings; overall supervision and responsibility for their set of accounts; complete understanding of media within particular industry; high awareness of current events; understand basic research techniques and methodologies and use them to support development/execution of client campaigns; understand audience research and tracking techniques and methodologies and use them to plan and evaluate client campaigns; evaluate campaign results against objectives; use results to suggest improvements to client or team; responsible for planning, organization and client profitability; total financial responsibility for specific set of accounts including forecasting and account profitability; final approval of invoices; track time and correct billing issues; manage monthly billing worksheets; document/track cost variations and keep team/manager abreast of changes; create proposals; participate in brainstorming and prospecting; present new business proposals; display superior presentation skills including confidence in presenting to clients; look for opportunities to develop business with existing clients (including cross-selling) and with potential clients; develop network of industry clients; participate in relevant professional organizations; participate in new business pitches; coach and motivate junior staff; challenge staff to ensure they work on a variety of projects; delegate work fairly and systematically; manage deadlines of staff; complete reviews when appropriate.
