Senior Business Development Manager, New Business Development

Purpose: Provides leadership in the screening of new business ideas and concepts by developing business cases and marketing plans using standard methodologies.  Coordinates closely with the Center for Packaging Innovation and counterparts in Consumer Solutions Group on development of new business opportunities that are not logically part of existing Lines of Business.

Experience:
? A combination of technical skills, business acumen, and creativity are required.
? Proven ability to lead projects that involve cross-functional participants.
? Proven ability to conduct initial screening and evaluation of ideas and new business concepts.
? Ability to lead a more comprehensive analysis of new initiatives and business opportunities, including development of business cases and marketing plans.
? Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
? Experience in industrial / BtoB marketing.
? 5-10 years experience in marketing or new business development roles desired.
? Experienced in building and developing alliances and partnerships. 

This individual would direct the activities of a shared resource (Senior Market Research Analyst).

Education Required:
? BS in technical field.
? MBA required.

Travel Required: 
? 40% Travel.

Key Output/Deliverables:
? Conduct initial screening and evaluation of multiple new business opportunities, using standardized methodologies for business case and marketing plan development, resulting in a portfolio of opportunities that are being introduced to an overall project management process.
? Interacts with CPI, PRG Product Development, all PRG customer-facing individuals, and external organizations (e.g. venture groups and entrepreneurs) to identify promising new business opportunities.
? Assess and translate market trends, competitive trends, customer trends, distribution trends, and pricing trends in developing marketing plans, activities, branding and strategy for the PRG, focusing on areas between or crossing over existing LOBs.
? Responsible for assessing and effectively communicating business and competitive intelligence in areas of interest to the PRG that are not covered by existing LOBs.
? Bring the ?voice of the customer? into the creation and execution of PRG business strategies, focusing on areas not covered by existing LOBs.
? Lead in the development of the PRG Strategy, focusing in areas of new business not covered by an existing LOB.
