SENIOR GRAPHICS DESIGNER

 

Job Summary:

 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about design and have extensive experience in the development, creation and production of consumer-oriented marketing materials to include: print advertising, catalogs, packaging, brochures and point of purchase materials.  Consumer package and print design skills are essential.

 

Essential Duties:

 

? Coordinate and direct third-party vendors and agenciesConcept, design and produce ad agency caliber print ads for newsstand magazines such as Astronomy, Sky & Telescope, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics.  Design consumer product packaging, catalogs, sell sheets, annual reports, brochures, posters, POP and other marketing collateral.Work closely with Creative Director, Brand Managers and the SVP of Marketing on strategic projects from concept to completionResponsible for the design, navigation and GUI the company?s websites.  Responsible for printing press checks.

 

Skills/Knowledge

 

? Expert level proficiency in Mac OS/ Windows, QuarkXpress, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, XML, and Macromedia Flash

? Solid product packaging design experience

? Thorough understanding of the print development and production process

? Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while meeting assigned deadlines

? Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change

? Ability to understand, identify, and support a marketing strategy graphically

? Team player with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills

? Strong written and verbal skills.

? Self-directed and motivated



Education/Experience:

 

? Bachelor?s degree in Graphic Design or visual communications
