What will you do?

You will be responsible for strategic planning and executing marketing communications and programs that create demand and generate awareness for Akamai services. This includes communications about the company, the products and services offered, and tailored messaging and program deliverables developed for targeted audiences. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving revenue and building brand via integrated programs with measurable results and poses the ability to evolve the demand generation practices and work-flow processes. 

You will report to the Director of Marketing Communications. You will quickly build domain knowledge of the Akamai offerings through interaction with product managers, sales, account managers, and customers. You will work cross-functionally to complete projects.  You will have a unique balance of disciplined strategic thinking, creative passion and a willingness to be very hands-on.

*  Contribute to annual and quarterly strategic marketing planning and responsible for the development of the annual program plan to support Akamai business objectives

*  Create, and execute multifaceted and integrated programs that build awareness and created demand across the Akamai offerings, execute on-time, and on-budget. (Events, Web site promos, e-mail, online, and search marketing, advertisements, Web casts, and others)

*  Develop content that articulates Akamai?s brand attributes and value propositions to create targeted communications across web site, collateral, sales tools and program deliverables

*  Develop strategic nurturing campaigns to prospect responses generated by program activity

*  Collaborate with internal teams and outside vendors to support creative design, production, executing, reporting and analytics.

*  Evolve current measurement process to monitor and report effectiveness of program activity, leading to continuous improvement of campaign results.

*  Manage and mentor staff provide opportunities and grow skill-sets, and mange workflow

*  Manage vendors and budgets, negotiate contracts and make economical purchases

 

What are we looking for?

 

*  A skilled direct marketing professional with eight to ten years relevant experience, Bachelor's Degree required, MBA ideal

*  Four years in B-to-B enterprise services/software environment

*  Strong understanding of marketing planning and program development/execution; experience developing and managing marketing budgets

*  Strong marketing communication skills (verbal and written)

*  Leadership/management experience within a corporate marketing organization

*  Strong analytical skills and experience creating and presenting campaign reports including ROI, conversion rates, etc.

*  Broad understanding of email and database marketing infrastructures and technologies

*  Candidate should possess strong vendor management skills and have experience working with media planners, email service providers, creative?s (agencies and freelancers)

*  Strong interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to work in a fast-paced ever changing environment

*  Microsoft office skills (word, excel, ppt) a must, additional design software skills a bonus.
