Server/Worksta CPU Planner

Position Description:

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Generate and maintain internal 2 year NDA microprocessor roadmap. Work with Long Term Processor Strategist to transition products from definition and architecture into the execution phase and carry through production. Be responsible for documenting and managing marketing product requests to engineering for products within 2 years of production. Work with marketing, platform, and software planners to develop business justifications for product requests outside of the existing Plan of Record. Manage cross-divisional product priorities with Mobile and Desktop processor groups to maximize benefit for AMD. Coordinate schedule and sample requirements with program management to ensure customer qualification and production requirements are met. Drive weekly meetings to align with product marketing, engineering and program management teams. Coordinate hand-off of released products to Product Marketing and Segment Program Managemen

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BSE in EE or Computer Engineering. MBA is beneficial but not required. Minimum 8-10 years industry experience with a background in Applications Engineering or Technical Marketing in the semiconductor industry. Recent marketing experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with the product development process from development to production required. Experience in either the Server/Workstation market or in high-end communications/networking systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
