Southwest Channel Marketing Manager

Position Description:

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Manages the day to day marketing interface with select Gold and all Platinum AMD Solution Provider Program Members/Channel Customers. Responsible for quarterly marketing plans and implements projects/programs that support the regional goals for AMD's microprocessor product lines: including Desktop, Mobile, and Server products. Acts as a project leader to provide overall direction to cross functional teams.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS: 1.Develops a yearly marketing plan for top regional accounts, which includes a definition of the business strategy and the tactics used to achieve the desired outcome. 2.Creates product launch promotional plans for the channel which include objectives, key messages, positioning, target audiences/geographies, features/benefits, and launch tactics. 3.Works with management in product marketing, field sales, corporate communications and channel partners/end users, to ensure that AMD is providing the appropriate marketing tools for segment penetration to achieve regional sales goals. 4.Identifies, evaluates and recommends marketing programs/promotions consistent with the product line objectives, provides pre and post sales marketing support to AMD's targeted channels and end user segments. Channels include: Resellers (System Builder, VARs), etailers (Ecommerce), and system integrators. End user segments include Consumers, Small/Medium Businesses, Education, Government and Large Business. 5.Recommends action, schedules and plans projects, estimates costs and manages projects to completion within time and budget. 6.Prepares and gives presentations to management on top customer marketing plans, strategies and channel promotions. 7. Makes recommendations for the uses of Market Development Funds (MDF). 8. Works on related projects and/or assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A non-technical bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, plus 5 years of high-technology marketing experience, including experience in the channel, managing marketing development funds (MDF),and in a Marketing organization whose goals and requirements are aligned to those of the Sales organization.

Requires demonstrated knowledge of channel marketing programs and promotions, and a thorough understanding of customer needs. Requires effective communications and positive negotiation skills. (An advanced degree may reduce the years of experience required.)
