Specialist Communications
Duties : Primary duties will be updating and maintaining The Club Hub employee portal using Dreamweaver software and HTML coding. This will require content management; editing, proofing, and design skills; the ability to interact well with executives and others in various departments; the ability to work under tight deadlines; troubleshooting and organizational skills; and possible "on-Call" duties in case of emergency or business continuity needs. The candidate should have excellent writing skills and be a confident proofreader and editor. In addition, duties of an Employee Communications Specialist will be assigned. These may include: Plan, edit, layout and publish in-house newsletters, bulletins, brochures, news releases, directories, manuals, speeches, handbooks, articles, or other communications and graphic arts material. Assist in preparation of internal newsletters (including gathering correspondents from other departments, taking photos and writing editorials and feature articles for publication). Manage/coordinate special projects (United Way campaign, communication campaigns, videos, benefits annual enrollment, leadership survey, special events, etc.) as assigned and directed by manager. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required. Provide communication consultation to Human Resources function and other operating units of the Club as needed.
Requirements: Four year college degree in appropriate area such as Communications, English, Public Relations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Two or more years prior experience in areas such as: preparation and publication of employee newsletters, brochures, employee handbooks, intranet content, video creation and editing, annual benefits open enrollment materials, new-employee benefits handbooks, and related benefit and compensation communications required. Advanced written and verbal communications skills, along with demonstrated people skills, organizational skills and time management skills required. Proficiency with software such as Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suites (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat, etc., a plus. Demonstrated project management capabilities and multi-task skills. Self-starter. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Access preferred. Proficiency with photography, video production, video editing software a plus. Proven ability to achieve high service quality results as well as meet productivity levels required.
