Sr. GIS Analyst

Job Description: We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior GIS Analyst position in our Consumer Lending Branch Operations Strategy department..



Working with a network of nearly 1400 branches, the GIS Analyst assists in defining the optimal branch footprint, executing the actions necessary to optimize the network, and monitoring the results to ensure continued operating efficiency. The GIS Analyst supports Branch Operations decision making across the network through geographic and demographic analysis, including customer distribution, presence of competitors, market potential, and branch accessibility. Responsibilities include definition of branch trade areas, branch overlap analysis, and recommendations for new branch locations, relocations, and closings.





Defining the optimal branch footprint.

Use advanced mapping software to aggregate information and produce maps of trade areas, customer distribution, loan account distribution and market demographics. Maps must be clearly labeled and easy to interpret.

Analyze Consumer Lending trade area information, such as number of households, market demographics, customer locations, and number of prospects to assess branch potential, recommend sites for branches, and assist in optimizing the network.

Produce written reports that summarize findings and recommendations. Provide input to management concerning results and recommendations.



Executing the actions necessary to optimize the network.

Manage account transfer process.

Update GIS data as required.

Automate common tasks with programming language within mapping software.

Provide Licensing with necessary documentation for Convenience & Advantage statements.



Monitoring results to ensure continued operating efficiency.

Use SAS to aggregate and analyze customer account information.

Provide miscellaneous geographic and demographic information as requested.

Perform other tasks or projects as required.

Job Experience:

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum three years experience with mapping and demographic analysis.

Understand finance company products and business,

Possess excellent analytic and programming skills (SAS, database (e.g. MS Access), and GIS)

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
