Sr. Media Manager
Job Responsibilities: The Sr. Media Manager works closely with the Director of Media to develop strategies for each marketing plan as it relates to media.
His/Her key responsibility is the development and execution of media plans / media strategies that support our brand positioning, offer brand right vehicles to showcase marketing messages and are most relevant to key customer segments.
This includes the management of outside agencies, overseeing all negotiations and approving media buys.
The Sr. Media Manager oversees the communication of media plans and buys to internal cross-functional teams, as well as external partners to ensure accurate and timely traffic/delivery of materials for all vehicles.
He/She oversees the billing process for media and manages the media budget, including monthly forecasts.
Sr. Media Manager will work with outside media buying agencies as well as directly with media vendors to negotiate better than market rates and quality, and manage the execution of media.
Responsibilities include: TV (National & local), radio, consumer print, out-of-home, newspaper (knowledge of non-traditional and online a plus)
Responsible for the development of media plans that support our priority customer segments and key brand initiatives integrated with Old Navy?s broader marketing plan
Utilize consumer insights, media research, seasonal learnings and creative strategy to develop targeted seasonal plans that will stand-out and showcase distinct creative messages
Work closely with Director of Media to innovate our media mix and develop on-brand opportunities to reach key customer segments in unique ways
Manage outside media agencies.
Which includes keeping agencies informed of the changing needs of the business by briefing them on seasonal targets, brand positioning and marketing objectives / strategies to ensure effective buying
Overseeing media planning, buying and negotiations with emphasis on television and print
Evaluating post-buy analysis and positioning reports to ensure delivery of all media buys and to use as leverage for future negotiations
Work closely with Director of Media in the development and management of media budgets
Setting appropriate media budgets based on market needs, initiatives, seasonality, etc.
Managing the budget seasonally and annually, which includes monthly forecasting
Work closely with Gap brand counterparts to plan and negotiate consumer print annually
Oversee and approve media billing working closely with Media Planner
Oversee communication of media plans/buys cross functionally to ensure accurate and timely traffic/delivery of instructions and materials
Responsible for understanding the target customer, brand positioning, and the needs of the business to aid in the development of marketing plans within Marketing
Provide data to Finance and Strategy to aid in the marketing effectiveness process
Analyze and present competitive spending and competitive use of media vehicles
Interact with all departments of Marketing as well as various Old Navy divisional departments including Online, Finance, Creative, Real Estate, Operations, etc.
Partner with counterparts at sister brands as appropriate
Manage relationships with outside media agencies
