Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Formative Assessments
Job Description: OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY : The Senior Product Manager is responsible for product management across a complete category of one of the Riverside product lines (e.g. Clinical, Group/Educational, Formative, etc.). The Senior Product Manager supervises Product Managers and other staff responsible for product marketing, and collaborates closely with the Managing Director of the corresponding business unit. General responsibilities include product strategy and positioning, pricing, and development of marketing programs, as well as the creation of annual marketing plans. The position is responsible for managing the entire product line life cycle and for achieving budgeted annual revenue and profit. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:- Lead all product management efforts, ranging from strategic planning to execution, across the product category. Develop and execute annual marketing plan to deliver budgeted revenue and profit. Participate in the company strategic planning process and align marketing activities with company strategic direction. Establish strategy, positioning, and pricing of products across the entire product category. Develop, implement, and measure the results of marketing initiatives to drive revenue and profit growth. - Supervise product marketing staff in developing and executing all aspects of the marketing plan. Allocate and manage budget across marketing initiatives. Employ all aspects of the marketing mix, including advertising and promotion campaigns, sales collateral, direct marketing/web marketing programs, public relations, packaging, trade show/event marketing and the annual catalog to support the product line. Collaborate with Marketing Communications department to create compelling communications to drive sales efforts. Develop sales and staff training strategies. Accountable for customer acquisition and retention programs and for customer satisfaction. - Facilitate the movement of new/revised products through the stage gate process, from ideation to implementation. Analyze category performance to identify and prioritize product opportunities, and prepare deliverables required at each stage of the process, ultimately presenting the proposal to publish to the Executive Team. Collaborate with Market Research in the development of effective research activities to inform product decision-making. Respond to product-level RFP’s (requests for proposals).- Build the skill sets of the product marketing team, developing staff, aligning resources and focusing energy on achieving results. Coach and develop the Product Manager/Associate Product manager pipeline for career advancement. - Maintain positive, collegial relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, particularly author groups and development teams. Resolve conflicts in a timely manner to ensure that key initiatives stay on schedule. - Other duties as assigned

Ability to both think strategically and execute tactically, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Solid understanding of all key marketing disciplines: product development, branding, research, promotion, direct marketing, advertising, web marketing. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:Required: BA in Marketing, Business or related discipline5 to 10 years product experience, preferably in education or related industryPreferred:MBA with experience in formative education market
