Sr Tax Audit Manager

 Job Title:   Manager, Tax Audits Reports to:     Director, US Tax Audits

 Job Function:

 

This position is a Manager level.  It prepares and determines the company?s response to state and domestic federal audits in order to save the company tax dollars.  It requires a seasoned professional with broad income tax compliance experience and professional education.  The professional will have a strong skill set of professional expertise, excellent organizational skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.  This position also requires the ability to coordinate the information requests with employees at all levels within the company.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

? Prepare and determine the company?s response to state & local audits (such as income, franchise, sales & use, payroll, property and intangible taxes). This includes the preparation of analyses as required.

? Manage all phases of a state audit from the first meeting to negotiating a favorable settlement for the company.  This includes researching issues in order to determine how to make the best case for the company as well as planning suggested settlements on various issues.

? Assist in responding to various   document requests on the Federal Income tax audit.

? Work on special projects as needed.

?  Research & respond to tax questions as they arise within the company.

 

Job Requirements:

 

?  BS Accounting and/or MS Taxation

?  CPA Preferred

?  5 or more years of tax experience in public accounting or industry

?  Computer skills with emphasis on Excel and Word
