Strategic Forecast Manager - WalMart

MeadWestvaco Consumer & Office Products is currently seeking a Forecast Analyst.  The position is based in Dayton, OH.

JOB SUMMARY

Manage the Wal-Mart forecast and Wal-Mart replenishment system for assigned product categories to maximize sales and profitability for both Wal-Mart and MeadWestvaco while maintaining efficient inventory levels for both companies.

 

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

- Create and manage MeadWestvaco and Wal-Mart forecasts.

- Manage the Wal-Mart system and MeadWestvaco inventory/forecasts to maintain in-stocks in the Wal-Mart stores.

- Provide forecast review monthly explaining the monthly and yearly variances to the Wal-Mart forecast.

- Develop script orders to accurately distribute product to the stores.

- Query and run daily, weekly, monthly and annual POS reports on MeadWestvaco products and make recommendations on sales trends.

- Research and develop timely, concise, actionable reporting that enables the company to provide superior customer service through various functional areas.

- Research and analyze lack of distribution, exceptions and anomalies as well as trends.

- Monitor and analyze sell-through, new item and rollback data to optimize current and future sales opportunities.

- Run POS reports on individual stores looking for no activity, which would indicate that a store has ?turned off? an item.

- Review seasonality profiles and ensure that they are in the correct timelines, which would affect order replenishment. 

- Assist with presentation, data, graph, chart and table preparation.

- Make recommendations regarding the Wal-Mart account based on data pulled from the RetailLink System.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor?s degree in business or equivalent experience.

- 3-5 years experience in forecasting, inventory control, and replenishment.

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize a demanding workload.

- Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

- Knowledge of WalMart, RetailLink and CPFR strongly preferred.

- Knowledge of SAP preferred.

- High degree of attention to detail. 

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and in various functional areas.

- Approximately 10% travel.
