Technical Marketing Specialist
Champion Technologies is a world leader in the production of specialty chemical products focused on solving oilfield problems related to the production of crude oil and natural gas. Established in 1953 and headquartered in Houston, TX, Champion has a significant presence in the major oilfield areas of the world.
Our Special Products business unit is looking for an Technical Marketing Specialist to be located in our Houston, TX office. This position will provide marketing and technical support for the Special Products business unit on a global basis. This includes developing product literature and case histories, making technical presentations to customers, coordinating research and development projects, and interfacing with customers to determine product needs. Travel time is estimated to be 30 to 40%.
This position reports to the Special Products Technical Manager and requires regular contact with Special Products sales staff, Champion/Special Products R&D personnel, Special Products customer R&D personnel and Special Products customer service personnel,
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
Prepares technical data sheets and product literature as required to support sales.Prepares case histories on products and/or applications that show the value to the customer.Participates in technical meetings with customers to help assess their needs and assist in jointly developing solutions.Assists as required in technology transfer to, and helps monitor the performance of third party manufacturers. Assists salesmen and account managers with sales calls as requested.Interfaces with R&D to coordinate projects, sample shipments and development of the appropriate technical information on products.Interfaces with Technology and Global Operations to develop product costs for use in pricing.Assists in field tests of products as required to assess performance.Prepares technical reports, project reports, and monthly progress reports as required.Travels as required to interface with customers, participate in field tests, and work with third party manufacturers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; or related science5 years of experience in the development and application of production and stimulation chemicalsGood communication and presentation skillsComputer skills with Microsoft software, particularly excel, word and power point.
