POSITION OVERVIEW:

TIMEFRAME NEEDED: August 21, 2006 ? November 10, 2006

This temporary position supports the execution of key revenue-producing events by scheduling and booking speakers from United Way?s affiliate base for over 400 events during the intense fund raising season (August through November). Key interactions are with internal fund-raising staff, and affiliate agency staff from throughout the Greater Boston community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Processing requests ? Ensure timely processing of high-volume of speaker requests from United Way fund-raising staff.

 Booking speakers ? Secure speakers for all corporate fund raising events, and other various fundraising events as needed.

 Booking tours ? Coordinate tours of affiliate agencies upon request.

 Confirming speakers ? Provide written confirmation to all parties upon securing a speaker, tour, or special booking.

 Tracking speakers and events. ? Maintain Access database and accurate files.

REQUIREMENTS:

 Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail

 The ability to work in a fast-paced setting and demonstrate patience under potentially stressful conditions

 Effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of staff and customers

 Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and email preferred
