Training Specialist

Summary of Responsibilities

MetLife deploys its contact management system to a user community of 10,000 field personnel. The Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and deploying first rate training in written, interactive, and live formats. In addition, the Training Specialist will be involved in developing and supporting software implementation strategies across the enterprise.

The training Specialist will take direction from the Manger- Contact Management Systems with respect to agency training priorities, implementation strategies, overall best practices and goal setting.

The position will provide exposure to senior management, outside vendors, consultants, and end users. Successful implementation of a contact management system will directly impact MetLife's success and sales results. Performance will be measured among other things on usage and acceptance of this product.

Principle Responsibilities
Conduct regular (weekly or more) web based training sessions to the field
Conduct one-on-one training sessions to agency management, as needed
Conduct regular in-person "on-site" training to management and field personnel
Create and update software training documentation, as needed
Create, update and adjust training curriculum, as needed
Answer email and phone questions about the software directly from the field, field management and home office personnel
Conduct and support software implementation and adoption training on an agency by agency basis, as required.
Outline, work to and report on all stated work goals
Report to management on training successes, challenges, and changes on an on-going basis

Required Competencies

This position requires a highly motivated candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills as well as good technical aptitude. Experience with contact management and/or sales management systems is also required.The candidate will also be involved in developing and implementing agency deployment plans and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess excellent training skills, Financial Services experience, and a good understanding of technology.
At least 2 years experience in either a technology training or support position
Bachelor-s degree or higher in Business, Management, IT, Economics, or related field
Strong PC skills including contact management systems such as CDS, FDP, Advisor-s Assistant, Act, Goldmine, Sales force, Siebel, SalesLogix, or other contact management tool.
Experience with web training tools like webmeeting as well as advanced media tools such as Captivate or similar.
Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, Power Point and Word. Basic database, network and web understanding a plus.
Ability to work directly with field sales and marketing professionals.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
A plus, but not required, would be financial services knowledge or experience.
