Position Description:

Major Accountabilities
- Provide vision for capital management and drive strategy for efficient capital utilization and improved return on equity.
- Provide leadership to HQ team to execute on vision.- Develop tools and analysis necessary for ensuring sound capital plan.
- Propose strategy for optimal business mix and growth rates to optimize dividend capability and long-term return on equity.
- Work with businesses to formulate exit recommendations for products/businesses due to sub-optimal performance.
- Develop and execute capital management projects.
- Identify marketplace/industry/regulatory trends with capital management implications, and develop strategies to proactively address.

Basic Candidate Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in Capital/Product Management with at least 5 years being in the insurance industry
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Actuarial science
- Prior experience leading a team

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
- Very strong communication skills
- Decisive and independent thinker
- Demonstrated leadership in executing complex projects involving cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of product line profitability, drivers and ROE. Major product lines include Term Life, UL, Fixed Annuities, Variable Annuities, GICs, LTC, Fee-Based Products, Group Life and Health Products and Mortgage Insurance.
- Significant knowledge of regulatory/rating agency capital markets
- Understanding of GAAP/STAT accounting models
- Significant prior experience in senior product management, financial planning or similar technical roles
- Outstanding analytical skills
- Demonstrated effective influencing and team building skills with ability to drive results and gain commitment at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity
- Self starter with excellent project and people management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Experience in working in a matrix environment
