Position Summary
Directs and performs a variety of marketing and communication-related functions as related to technical communication, trade show management, media and public relations.Primary Responsibilities
? Creates content for the corporate web site, marketing collateral, technical information, advertising, and other communication vehicles.
? Writes, edits, illustrates, photographs, photo edits, and designs as needed and coordinates the production of corporate communications as required.
? Manages the corporate participation in industry events and exhibits.
? Manages and creates content for media relations and public relations.
? Directs the promotional and technical communication support of all product/service launches.
? Supervises technical writers, designers, and related personnel.
? Manages external accounts for printing, trade show participation and exhibit management, advertising, promotional items, and related accounts as required.
? Participates on the corporate strategic planning team.
? Participates on the marketing and web site development teams.
Key Competencies & Qualifications
Communication: Individual must possess superior oral and written communication skills including the ability to write, edit, illustrate, design, and orally present technical and business information.
Technical: Individual must be familiar with technical products and industries, and have the ability to learn new technologies, interact with technical people, and translate technical information.
Computer: Individual must possess advanced computer skills in standard office programs as well as specialized communications programs such as those intended for illustration, photo editing, multimedia, web authoring, and page design.
Leadership: Individual must be able to communicate the corporate vision of KMC to both internal and external audiences. He/she must provide mentoring to all in communication-related matters. He/she must be capable of taking the lead as needed in internal and external meetings.
Teamwork: Individual should possess strong consensus-building skills and be able to establish relationships of trust and mutual respect.
Organization: Individual should be highly organized and have working systems for such activities as personal and project scheduling.
Strategic Planning: Individual should be able to think strategically and have the ability to envision long-term scenarios as well as short-term necessities. He/she should be able to identify changing customer needs, market conditions, technologies, competitors, and channels, and adapt to them.
Education/Experience: Individual should possess a minimum of a bachelor?s degree from an accredited university in a communications-related field. In addition, the individual should have a minimum of 10 years experience in corporate, marketing, and/or technical communications, preferably in the technology arena.
