Web Communications Specialist

Position This hands-on position contributes to Northrop Grumman Space Technology??s success by developing and delivering Web communications initiatives that enhance and maintain the Company's culture, reputation and brand. An integral member of the communications team, this person is responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day maintenance of internal and external Web sites. He or she works with a variety of internal clients to determine content needs and implements creative technology solutions in accordance with company strategy, style and development guidelines.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
?X Write, edit and upload content for the company internet and intranet; Photo edit images to match content
?X Partner with Information Technology organization to strategize and develop sites in support of specific company initiatives
?X Proactively identify new and creative web applications and implement best practices in web communications. Work with Information Technology organization to spec projects, budget and manage implementation.
?X Works with Information Technology organization to evolve templates, navigation and publishing processes.
?X Work closely with content contributors to ensure quality and consistency of content
?X Adhere to site architecture, navigation structure, internet/intranet and corporate identity guidelines when planning and developing content
?X Work with Web Council, Information Technology organization, and Communications colleagues to post Video Streaming Messages/Web Casts
?X Monitor effectiveness of sites, initiatives and messages; Implement ways to measure success via e-surveys, data collection, etc.
?X Support documentation of policies and procedures regarding content management
?X Manage photo library of images for Web
?X Serve as co-chair of the Intranet Oversight Board



The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience including experience managing and developing content for the internet and/or intranet as well as outstanding communication skills ?V both verbal and written. A bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field is preferred.
?X Strong understanding of web development processes and technology; proficiency with Web content management tools as well as Web reporting and optimization strategies
?X A proven ability to develop compelling, creative and credible web communications for a variety of audiences
?X Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills; Knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines
?X Graphic design skills including familiarity with PhotoShop
?X Excellent interpersonal, organizational and project management skills
?X The ability to independently manage projects and deadlines while participating actively as a team member
?X Strong communication skills: ability to set clear expectations and deal effectively with individuals from all levels of the organization
?X Strategic planning and project management of multiple concurrent projects and tasks
