Web Content Editor

COMMUNICATIONS/PUBLIC RELATIONS/WEB

Position Summary
This position's primary responsibility is to manage all Web Content and projects related to the corporate website. The Web Content is critical to the overall value proposition for our client's members. It is an integral part of the company's strategic plan to build their brand, add value to their membership group, and to attract new members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

o Serves as managing editor of the company and the public websites
o Develops and proofs content for company newsletters and other publications as required
o Manages all content and projects, both national and international, related to the website, including content updates
o Writes, edits and proofreads new content
o Ensures all documents meet established content standards
o Works with developers to assess any technical challenges in displaying the content
o Ensures all content development is in alignment with the company's brand messaging standards, directives and initiatives
o Collaborates with IT in the development of online tools and features
o Supports and contributes to new content initiatives as they develop
o Provide editorial support to the Communications' team and others within the company
o Interview subject matter experts when needed to create new or updated content for web
o Writes and coordinates stories from the Corporate community
o Generates ideas for new content from the Corporate community


Requirements:

o Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent experience required
o 5 to 7 years experience in the field or related area
o Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
o Demonstrate extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish essential job duties
o Ability to create, write, and proof content as appropriate for the web site
o Demonstrate creative and innovative thinking related to websites and their content
o Ability to judge newsworthy ideas and develop web content as appropriate
o Comprehensive knowledge of Web publishing procedures
