Web Managing Editor

 

Job Summary:  Manages day-to-day content needs for assigned public Web sites. Develops content matrices that detail Electronic Marketing efforts, and manages ongoing site improvement projects. Works with Electronic Marketing management and lines of business to implement electronic marketing strategies and tactics for Web sites, campaigns and newsletters, including tracking and reporting.

 



Key Responsibilities

? Seeks process improvement opportunities and recommends areas for improvement.

? Interviews individuals, attends meetings, conducts research to obtain items for publication, verifies facts and clarifies information.

? Gathers, writes, edits and/or coordinates related editorial material to ensure dynamic and updated content on the sites.

? Works with IS Web Development to define functional specifications. Conducts testing (including coordinating various groups to perform validation testing) to ensure site functionality meets standards for public Web sites.

? Secures graphic material from photo sources and/or artists and photographers to produce photos and illustrations appropriate for site.

? Organizes material, plans overall and individual Web page layouts and works to create effective access and readability through navigation and graphical interfaces.

? Analyzes site design and content and recommends improvements related to graphic design, layout, navigation and copy.

? Works with support/partner sites director, support managers, knowledgebase owners and partner services groups to define and implement processes and policies for support and partner Web sites. 

 

Qualifications

? Excellent project management skills.

? Superior writing and editing skills.

? Familiarity with Web communications, Web architecture and navigation, Web design and Web content strategies.

? Proven track record of success/experience in Web marketing programs.

? Proficient in basic HTML and familiar with Web editing tools, such as DreamWeaver.



?3+ years related experience and/or training.

?Bachelor?s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
