1131AR Sr. Procurement Operations Team Leader

Job Description:
The principle challenge of the North American Procurement Operations Team Leader is to supervise procurement activities, implement cost savings initiatives and deploy process cost reduction activities at the location. 
The Leader will support and implement the procurement strategy and mission within the framework of the Business System Company.
The Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of buyers and/or storeroom personnel, cost reduction activities within specified commodities or locations and optimizing the buying process for those commodities. 
Additionally, the Team Leader is responsible for working with the other regional and location team leaders, procurement specialists, leveraging teams and C.O.E. resources to coordinate like buying activities and to implement the appropriate optimize processes for those buys using the proper procurement tools and technology.
The incumbent is expected to take an active role in the supervision and some buying process. 
Areas of procurement responsibility include, but are not limited to capital projects, operating and maintenance supplies, contractors, engineering, maintenance and service contracts, third party outsourcing of production processes or professional services, and supervision of procurement personnel.
The incumbent must interact at times with other members of the N.A. Procurement Operations team, GBS Procurement, C.O.E and the RtP organizations, and provide assistance and data when requested in support of corporate leveraging initiatives. 
The incumbent may also interact with the GBS RtP/Accounts Payable teams to reconcile invoice and payment problems and drive root cause solutions.
Successful implementation and adaptation of the Oracle requisition to pay system and other enabling tools such as on-line bidding, the Mall, pay form receipt, and others will be critical in meeting N.A.
Procurement Operation?s business cost reduction objectives.
 Supplier and commodity information must be shared across organizations in a quick and understandable format in order to properly identify and prioritize cost reduction opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

 
Bachelors and/or equivalent training or experience, MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Preferred:
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in aerospace, MRP systems, APICS  & CPM certification.
Strong working knowledge of procurement or supply chain management with exposure to a variety of commodities and suppliers. 
Experience as a mid level buyer/commodity analyst is preferred.
Experience in identifying and implementing purchasing cost reduction opportunities in a multifunctional plant environment; conducting formal bids; negotiating cost effective solutions and driving changes in product or process design and consumption behavior.
Strong working knowledge and experience with the buy/supply/pay practices and the administrative processes used to support them, including the Oracle RtP and on-line bidding.
Understanding and demonstrating results implementing the companies procurement strategy.
